Jakob Edvard Colbjørnsen (November 19, 1744 - February 13, 1802) was chief justice of the Supreme Court (Da. ''Højesteret'', Nor. ''Høyesterett'') of Denmark-Norway in the capital of Copenhagen.〔(''Edvard Colbjørnsen''(Store norske leksikon) )〕
Jakob Edvard Colbjørnsen was born in Sørum, Akershus, in the traditional region of Romerike, Norway. His parents were Colbjørn Colbjørnsen Jacobsen (1714-1761) and Anna Dorothea Røring (1710-1772). Jakob Edvard Colbjørnsen, along with his brothers, Edvard Røring Colbjørnsen (1751–1792), Christian Colbjørnsen attended the Christiania Cathedral School.
He served as the chief justice from 1799 until his death. He died in 1802 and his brother, Christian Colbjørnsen was chief justice of Denmark-Norway until 1814.
Jakob Colbjørnsen was one of the founding members of The Norwegian Society (''Det Norske Selskab'').
